DARIEN — Piggybacking on a nationwide food drive, for the 25th year in a row Darien’s Person-to-Person worked at trying to help “Stamp Out Hunger” on Saturday afternoon.

“It’s a community drive,” said Jen Manley, one of 60 dedicated volunteers who helped collect in the neighborhood of 25,000 pounds of food to help the hungry.

Across the country the National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive took place, with people leaving food in bags by their mailboxes for collection, much of which in Darien later found its way to the pantry at Person-to-Person.
