Shots are $15 each and can be paid for by cash or check; no insurance is accepted. The high dose vaccine, which is recommended for those 65 and older, will be available in addition to the standard flu vaccine.
Post 53 will provide free blood pressure screenings.

A respiratory therapist will provide sleep tips and advice on proper breathing. A clinical specialist in occupational therapy will cover stroke, fall prevention, and joint replacement.
The Darien Library will host three programs during the afternoon to promote healthy lifestyles. From 11 to 11:30 a.m in the Conference Room, Shelly Ransom will run Yoga for Kids and demonstrate a series of poses for kids of all ages to begin their yoga practice. From 1 to 1:30 p.m., Meditation for Beginners will be held in the Conference Room. Julie Punishill, a graduate of the two-year intensive training program at the Institute for Conscious Counseling and Coaching in Essex, Mass., will lead a meditation practice ritual for beginners. The library will also have a selection of books on various health topics available on display.
"We're excited to be working with the Health Department to make it easy and fun for Darien families to stay healthy as we head into flu and cold season," Stephanie Anderson, head of reader services, said in the release. "Since the following day will be Post 53's Hands for Life event to be held at the Darien YMCA, the library is proud to be part of what might be Darien's healthiest weekend of the year."
