Stop & Shop in Goodwives Shopping center will celebrate the re-opening of the store on Friday with giveaways, appearances, and a Person-to-Person donation.

Selectman Kip Koons, Senator Bob Duff, and other community leaders will join Stop & Shop President Gordon Reid and Wayne Pesce, President of the Connecticut Food Association when Stop & Shop unveils its newly updated Darien store located at 25 Old King’s Highway North in Darien, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 6.

Stop & Shop store manager Chris Kemp and his team will celebrate the grand reopening with a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by giveaways, food sampling, and a special appearance by former New York Giants linebacker Mark Herzlich.

To reinforce its commitment to giving back to the community, the store will also present Person-to-Person with a $1,000 donation to help provide low-income individuals in Darien with basic needs like food and clothing.

Stop & Shop’s updated store aims to deliver fresher, healthier, and more convenient options that make grocery shopping easier for local customers. New features include a stir fry station, a wing bar, and an in-store smoker. Customers will enjoy a faster checkout with Stop & Shop’s SCAN IT! mobile app along with a large selection of local Connecticut offerings including craft beers as well.
