A woman told a local news outlet that her 16-year-old daughter had been coming to the club for many years. The woman told KEZI 9 News that she contacted police after finding several photos on her daughter's cell phone of the girl kissing Lopez.

Boys & Girls Club of Albany administrators did not respond to requests for comment. In a statement to other news outlets at the time, club officials denied any assault happening on club time or on club property, but admitted that there had been an "inappropriate relationship" between Lopez and the girl.

Under the terms of his sentence, Lopez is required to register as a sex offender, cannot have contact with the victim and cannot have unsupervised contact with minors during his probation.
