Depot, police association and library offering internet safety seminar

DARIEN — The Darien Police Association, The Depot Youth Center, and the Darien Library are sponsoring a seminar on internet safety for families.

The seminar will be presented by Internet Safety Concepts , a company that has been educating families about the advances, benefits and dangers of the internet since 2007.

Topics that will be covered include social networking concerns, cyber-bullying, texting and sexting, trending apps, pictures sharing, privacy settings, digital footprints, apps that help parents monitor their families and parent resources.

Most apps can be used in fun, positive ways - but not all programs are appropriate for all ages.

Scott Driscoll, president of Internet Safety Concepts programs, has taught thousands of students, and parents about the importance of safety when using technology.
