Darien residents, businesses leading Tiny Miracles gala event
The Tiny Miracles Foundation's "A Star is Born" fundraising gala to benefit premature babies in Fairfield County takes place on Saturday, April 27, and includes Darien residents on the committee and several businesses as sponsors.
The eighth annual gala takes place at the Wee Burn Country Club in Darien at 6:30 p.m. The 2013 theme, "A Star is Born," welcomes attendees to a night in Old Hollywood and calls for a black-tie-optional dress code. Guests will enjoy hors d'oeuvres and big-band favorites while they peruse silent auction items on display. A gourmet seated dinner will be followed by the live auction, dancing and desserts provided by Palmer's Bakery in Darien.
Sponsors include Kelley Associates and Callari Auto Group, both of Darien; Stamford Hospital; Norwalk Hospital Foundation; Bridgeport Hospital Foundation; Safe Harbor Consulting and Risk Management LLC; Broder & Orland LLC and Fairfield Plastic Surgery.
The silent auction will feature items by Roger Vivier, Wacoal, Great River Golf, Roughan Interior Design, Steven Fox Jewelry, Jack Dog Studio Photography, Maria Livesay Salon and Infinity Fitness.
The live auction donations include a weeklong stay at Bromley Mountain, a first-class trip to Martha's Vineyard, a photography session at Bradford Portraits in New York City and more.
Proceeds from the event will support the programs and services of the Tiny Miracles Foundation, a nonprofit organization that reaches more than 1,200 families in Fairfield County. Services and programs are provided in the neonatal units of Stamford, Norwalk and Bridgeport Hospitals, and Danbury Hospital, which is part of the Western Connecticut Health Network.
