DARIEN — Police were called to Andrews Drive after a home security system was activated by a suspect breaking in a front door.

Police received a call on Jan. 13 around 8:45 p.m. from a man checking in on his in-law’s home. The man said he came to check on the house after receiving a call from ADT Security, saying the alarm in the house had been triggered. The man said it appeared as if someone had tried to force their way into the home.

Officers found the suspect entered the home through the front door, which was split open with the deadbolt still intact. The officers and the complainant checked the interior of the home, but nothing appeared to be disturbed. Police believe the suspect may have fled the home upon realizing the alarm had been set off.
