Darien pays tribute to 9/11 victims on 21st anniversary of terror attacks

Twenty-one years after the Sept. 11 terror attacks, Darien residents gathered for the town’s annual Memorial Observation Ceremony on Sunday.

Organized by the Monuments and Ceremonies Commission, people congregated at the town’s 9/11 Monument in the courtyard behind Middlesex Middle School.

The Monuments and Ceremonies Commission of the town of Darien is hosting its annual September 11th Memorial Observation Ceremony at 8:25 a.m. Sunday. The 9/11 memorial, dedicated in 2003, was created by former Darien High School student Josh Doying as part of his Eagle Scout project.
