There's a sunny forecast in store for southwestern Connecticut today, according to the National Weather Service.

The rest of the week, however, poses the threat of showers and thunderstorms on nearly every day.

Today's daytime high temperature should be about 76 degrees, with an east wind 5 to 9 mph becoming south.

Tonight should be partly cloudy, with a low around 60 degrees.

Tomorrow brings a slight chance of showers after 1 p.m. Otherwise, skies will be partly sunny, with a high near 79 degrees. There will be a west wind between 6 and 8 mph. Showers and thunderstorms are again possible at night when skies become cloudy, with a low temperature around 66.

By Wednesday, the odds of showers and thunderstorms increases to about 50 percent, the NWS says. Skies will be mostly cloudy, with a high temperature near 78. Showers and thunderstorms are also possible at night, as the temperature drips to about 67 degrees.

The forecast for Thursday remains pretty much the same, according to the weather service: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mostly cloudy skies and a high near 79 degrees.
