Darien forecast: Summer ending on showery note
After a spell of glorious late-summer weather, the season is likely to end on a showery note, according to the National Weather Service.
There is a chance of scattered showers today in southwestern Connecticut after noon, as the daytime high temperature reaches to about 70 degrees. There will be a southwest wind between 7 and 11 mph.
There remains a slight chance of showers tonight under mostly cloudy skies, with a low around 60 degrees.
Tomorrow again may see a showery afternoon, with a high temperature in the mid-70s, the NWS says. There is a greater chance of precipitation tomorrow night after 8 p.m. as the temperature dips to the mid-60s.
Showers again are possible Thursday, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. It will be cloudy, with a high near 75. There could be more precipitation Thursday night, while the temperature dips to the mid-60s.
And showers again are the watch word for Friday -- the official first day of autumn -- according to the weather service, with a high temperature of about 70 degrees.
