The Darien Sport Shop has joined 250 other local businesses and families in formally acknowledging Pride Month this June in town.

In addition to flying the pride flag in front of the store front the entire month, the store is also partnering with the Triangle Community Center to raise money and awareness for the LGBTQ community.

“Darien Sport Shop is extremely proud to participate in Pride Month,” Greg Reilly, Darien Sport Shop marketing manager, said. “We are fully supportive of all persons rights to individualism, and are glad to be able to help raise awareness for the LBGTQ community.

“As a local business that has served the Fairfield County for the last 75 years, we are honored to support the Triangle Community Center as they work to counsel and support members of the LBGTQ community,” Reilly added.

The center is matching all donations for the month of June up to $15,000 as part of “The Pride Challenge.” Everyone who donates $50 or more to the center during June will be awarded a 20 percent off shopping day at store, located at 1127 Post Road.

The center is located at 618 East Ave., Norwalk, and offers a variety of services and resources for the LBGTQ community.
