DARIEN - More than $12,000 worth of tools were stolen from a portable construction office on Brookside Drive, police said.

The owner reported the tools stolen on Aug. 23, saying that the theft occurred sometime over the previous weekend. Police said the tools are valued at $12,350.

Police said the office, located on Brookside Drive near the intersection of the Post Road, had been locked over the weekend. The owner said that when he arrived on the morning of Aug. 23, he found a window had been broken out on the entry door, police said.
