DARIEN — The Darien Arts Center is offering art workshops for students this summer from July 12 to 23.

“Cartooning/Comic Strip Camp” for students who are in first through fourth grade will be July 12 to 15. The class will teach students how to illustrate comics, write text and create characters with a focus on facial expressions, body language and using color.

“Kids Love Printmaking Workshop” for students in fifth through eighth grade runs from July 19 to 22. The class allows students to use a printing press to create prints and produce projects to take home.

“Fantasy Map Design — Here Be Dragons,” is a workshop where students in fifth through eighth grade will create maps from fantasy worlds and locations like Hogwarts, Narnia, Lord of the Rings, Atlas and others. The workshop is July 19 to 23.
