Connecticut State Police issue stats for response through the holiday season so far
The Connecticut State Police had 6,700 calls for service, assisted 295 motorists, responded to 458 accidents (79 with injury, one serious injury (Westbrook), two fatalities (Windham, and Bethany), made 35 DUI arrests, and issued 248 citations for speeding.
They issued 795 hazardous moving violations (to include: unsafe lane change, following too closely, move over, etc). These are reflective of the time period starting at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, 2019 to present.
During the holiday of 2018, they issued a total of 659 tickets for speeding, 46 tickets for hazardous moving violation (to include: unsafe lane change, following too closely, move over, distracted driving, etc.) 14 seatbelt tickets, 55 DUI’s. They responded had 550 traffic accidents 60 with injury, three fatalities. This covered from 12:01 a.m. December 21, 2018 to December 26, 2018 at 11:59 p.m.
