DARIEN — A 64-year-old Darien man had his wallet and iPad stolen after two suspects smashed his car window in the parking lot of the Darien YMCA.

On Aug. 4 around 3 p.m., the man parked his gray 2012 Lexus on the east side of parking lot of the Darien YMCA on the Post Road. Around 4:30 p.m., he returned to his car to find the rear passenger window smashed. A brown leather briefcase with a wallet, credit cards and personal identification was taken, as well as an umbrella and iPad Air. Police later found the iPad by Interstate 95 North Exit 13 where it was apparently thrown from the car by the suspects.

Surveillance video from the YMCA shows two black males entered the lot and smashed the window around 4:07 p.m. They drove a dark-colored minivan with a Florida license plate. One suspect wore a gray hoodie, black shorts and black sneakers. The other suspect wore a green shirt.

The total value of the stolen items was around $1,400. No other cars in the lot were damaged or apparently entered. Police are continuing to investigate this incident.
