Multiple residents in the area of Knollwood Lane awoke on the morning of March 25 to find their cars had been burglarized overnight. Police said more than half a dozen unlocked cars were burglarized on Knollwood, Peach Hill Residence, Sunset Road Residence and Fox Lane.

Like many recent car burglaries in Darien, the victims found that the contents of their glove compartment and center console were tossed around the inside of their car. One Knollwood Lane resident reported a blue tote bag containing several books and paperwork missing. The bag was later recovered by a neighbor, who found the bag on the side of the road while walking their dog nearby. A Peach Hill resident reported gift cards and sunglasses missing from their car but those too were found in the road near their home.

Police said the burglaries may have been linked to series of car thefts and burglaries reported on the same night in Rowayton. Darien authorities are working with Norwalk police to continue their investigation.
