Karen Wagner will share her Broadway cabaret experience on Monday, Aug. 8, at 12:45.

Wagner is a professional singer/actress and vocal instructor with credits that include Eva Peron in “Evita,” Rowena in “Biloxi Blues,” Lady Thiang in “The King and I,” the Narrator in “Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” and Leisl in “The Sound of Music.”

Her love for the theatre has inspired her to develop and perform her one woman show, “Karen Wagner’s Broadway Cabaret Experience.”

She has been the lead singer for many Boston- and Connecticut-based bands, including Route 66, a 1940s singing group, and currently performs throughout the country with her one woman cabaret act, singing hits from the 1920s to 1970s, including today’s music and a little of everything in between.

Her music can be heard on 104.9 WIHS, the Gospel America Network, and various local television shows. As a former member of “Salt and Pepper Gospel Singers,” Karen has had the opportunity to perform and open up for such artists and speakers as The Winans, the Rev. James Cleveland and the Rev. Jessie Jackson. She has performed at the Gospel Music Workshop of America’s National Convention.
