Bridgeport Rescue Mission collects turkeys and coats for Great ThanksGiving Project

With the support of corporate partners, Bridgeport Rescue Mission is preparing to provide 15,000 winter coats and 3,200 bags of Thanksgiving turkeys and fixings for low-income families and individuals through its annual Great ThanksGiving Project.

Great ThanksGiving Project distribution will take place Nov. 20-26, from 12:30-3 p.m. daily, except Sunday, at Webster Bank Arena, 600 Main Street, Bridgeport. The mission also plans to serve thousands of holiday meals to residents and guests through their dining room and mobile kitchens.

Chief Executive Officer Frank Williams said, “With generous support from corporate partners, thousands of men, women, and children in Coastal Connecticut will receive Thanksgiving meals and winter coats to prepare for the cold months ahead.”

The mission wishes to thank its corporate partners: Allstate, Barcelona Wine Bar, bartaco, Bizmark, CXLoyalty, Penske, alphabroder|Prime, Reed Exhibitions, and R.D. Scinto. Beyond financial support, sponsors provide teams of employees to help pack Thanksgiving food bags and distribute coats in the mission’s Bridgeport and South Norwalk distribution areas. “It’s our largest outreach of the year, helping thousands of neighbors,” said Williams, “and it’s only possible because of our corporate partners.”
