At Home in Darien delivers Valentines to senior citizens

DARIEN — At Home In Darien recently partnered with local dance school, Dance on the DL, and Holmes School Daisy Girl Scout Troop 50326, to help deliver Valetine’s Day greetings to seniors.

The students from the dance school made Valentine-themed magnets, and paperweights that are both functional, and decorative.

At Home In Darien volunteers delivered these gifts, along with thoughtful cards created by the dance students, to the homes of 40 senior citizens. Dance on the DL’s craft project was a charitable event and generously raised money to benefit At Home In Darien, and their services that assist the senior citizens in the town.

Troop 50326’s Valentine’s Day cards were distributed to an additional 60 senior citizens in the town through the Darien Senior Center’s lunch program, and to the assisted living facilities in the town: - Atria, Maplewood and the Residence at Selleck’s Woods.

“We are so delighted when we can facilitate inter-generational connections,” At Home In Darien Executive Director, Gina Blum said. “It enriches the community and benefits both the seniors and the children.”
