Abandoned dog found with note: ‘Please help’
A dog found tied to a tree in Norwalk with a note attached to her collar is now being cared for by the local animal shelter.
On Friday, police received a report of a dog tied to a tree in Cranbury Park. Animal control responded to find a female pit breed, about three years old.
The note, attached to the dog’s collar, identified her as “Annabell.”
“To whomever loves dogs,” the note read. “She’s an amazing dog. House trained. Brendal and Bully. Aug. 12 she’ll be 3 years. Human friendly. Dog friendly. All shots and a sweet heart. Her name is Annabell. Couldn’t afford her. Please help.”
Animal control officials confirmed that it is illegal to abandon an animal.
Norwalk’s animal shelter is currently housing one other dog in addition to Annabell, also found this weekend.
