DARIEN — Police were called to the CVS pharmacy on the Post Road on Dec. 20 on a report of products stolen from the store the night before.

Officers on the scene spoke to a day manager who stated an employee had noticed an empty shelf in the store on Dec. 19 around 8:45 p.m. The employee reportedly notified his night manager, who then notified the day manager to check surveillance video the following morning, according to police.

The manager noticed a man accompanied by a woman enter the store around 5:50 p.m. through the Post Road entrance and remove Aveda hair care products from the shelf.

The man grabbed some of the products and placed them in his clothing, briefly walked away and then returned to take the remainder of the Aveda products. Surveillance showed both suspects exiting the store by 5:54 p.m., despite the merchandise alarm sounding as they exited, according to the report.

Forty products in all were stolen at an estimated cost of $1,082.60. The investigation is ongoing.
