YWCA Newcomers invite new residents to wine and cheese event
The YWCA Darien/Norwalk Newcomers Club will host its January wine and cheese ladies night at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12 at Equinox Fitness Center in Darien. New town residents who are interested in joining the YWCA are welcome to attend this event which is also open to current YWCA Newcomers Club members.
This is the first year the YWCA Newcomers Club will host a wine and cheese Ladies Night at Equinox. Historically, the Newcomers have held this event in both October and January at a member's home.
Newcomers co-chairman Jessica Reinckens is excited about the event.
"We're excited to have this popular event at a different, fun location and are grateful that Equinox offered to host," she said.
The YWCA Newcomers Club is designed to help women who are new to the community quickly feel at home. There are plenty of opportunities to make new friends through activities including informal playgroups, a monthly book club, ladies nights, volunteering opportunities and couples events including gourmet and winetasters groups.
"When I moved to town, everyone told me to join the YWCA Newcomers Club and that's how I made my best friends here," Sara Parent, a YWCA member, said.
To attend, RSVP by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information about YWCA Newcomers call the YWCA Darien/Norwalk office or visit www.ywcadariennorwalk.org.
