Map: Tracing CT college student’s alleged deadly crime spree outlined by police
Peter Manfredonia, a 2015 Newtown High School grad and University of Connecticut student who was wanted in connection with two homicides, kidnapping and other crimes, was apprehended without incident Wednesday night in Maryland.
Manfredonia, 23, was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals and Maryland’s Washington County Sheriff’s Office near the Pilot Travel Center, a truck stop on Halfway Boulevard in Hagerstown, Md.
Manfredonia is accused of killing two people over the weekend in Connecticut, including shooting his former Newtown High School classmate in the head, according to the state’s chief medical examiner.
The search for Manfredonia extended into Maryland on Wednesday when a vehicle he was accused of stealing in the Poconos was recovered in southern Pennsylvania and video surveillance revealed he had taken an Uber over the state line into Hagerstown on Tuesday morning, police said.
