Man charged after fight with brother at rest stop
DARIEN -- A Bridgeport man led police on a brief chase down Interstate 95 early Monday morning after he was involved in a fight with his brother at the northbound rest stop in Darien, state police said.
According to a state police incident report, witnesses said a man, later identified as Francisco Trinidad, was involved in an argument with another man and showed a handgun after they tried to intervene.
Before police arrived on the scene, Trinidad entered a white Honda Civic and drove off northbound on I-95.
Fairfield police and state police caught up to Trinidad, 21, of Liberty Way, Bridgeport, and he was taken into custody around 4:30 a.m. after they stopped his car, according to the report by Trooper Edmund Vayan.
Police said they later learned the man Trinidad had been fighting with was his 23-year-old brother.
Trinidad was charged with breach of peace (fight causing minor injury) and third-degree assault. He was held on $500 bond and and scheduled to be arraigned Monday at state Superior Court in Stamford.
