The South Western Region Metropolitan Planning Organization will host a special meeting from 8:15 to 10 a.m. on July 22, to discuss regionalism with state Office of Policy and Management Undersecretary David LeVasseur, who will brief attendees on the state's requirements and timetable for restructuring regional boundaries and governance mandated under Public Act 13-237.

The meeting takes place at the Norwalk Transit District, 275 Wilson Ave., Norwalk. The meeting agenda is available at one week prior to the meeting.

The SWRMPO is comprised of the chief elected officials of Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stamford, Weston, Westport and Wilton, and the directors of the region's transit districts. As mandated by federal regulations, the SWRMPO is responsible for transportation policy development, planning, and programming of federal transportation funding for the region.
