For the past four years, Gov. Dan Malloy has been working hard to ensure the safety of our schools, streets and communities. Gov. Malloy lead the charge to pass comprehensive, common-sense gun safety legislation, which effectively banned assault weapons and high-capacity magazines that have no place in Connecticut's towns and cities.

These reforms also keep guns out of the hands of individuals who could pose a threat to themselves or others, and have prevented more than 200 people from buying these dangerous weapons for failing a background check.

Finally, our gun laws now make mental health services more accessible to those who need them.

Connecticut is a safer place to live, work and raise a family thanks to Gov. Dan Malloy's leadership on this important issue.
