Letter: Himes is a 'Problem Solver'
Jim Himes deserves another term in Congress for numerous reasons, not the least of which is that he is one of a growing number of congressmen looking for bipartisan solutions to the nation's problems.
Jim is a member of the No Labels organization's "Problem Solver's Group" in Congress. To join, congressmen must agree to meet regularly with both Republicans and Democrats to build trust across the aisle. No Labels is about making government functional again and we should be proud that Connecticut's own Jim Himes is in the forefront of that movement.
Jim has also been a staunch supporter of Connecticut's seniors and the two most important programs affecting them: Social Security and Medicare. Jim has been endorsed by the nonpartisan National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare because of his votes to protect Social Security and Medicare benefits to seniors.
Jim is a thoughtful and articulate congressman searching for meaningful ways to move our country forward in the 21st century. Darien, and the rest of Fairfield County, is extremely lucky to be represented by him. Please join me in voting for Jim Himes for Congress on Nov. 4.
