HAMDEN — Police are investigating a street robbery that took place Sunday afternoon.

According to police reports, police responded to Pine Street at about 3 p.m. Sunday on the report of an armed street robbery.

Police said the victim, a 30-year-old Wallingford resident, told police he was meeting a relative. While standing on Pine Street, a motor vehicle, described as a silver Honda sedan with tinted windows pulled alongside of him, police said.

The victim told officers a male exited the passenger door and pointed a firearm at him. The male — described as a light-skinned black male with a “young face,” about 5 feet, 9 inches tall — subsequently stole the victim’s wallet and cell phone, police said. The vehicle reportedly fled toward Dix Street.

The Hamden Police Department Detective Division is conducting the investigation.
