A handwritten note found on the first floor of Darien Town Hall at about 5 p.m. Wednesday afternoon read: "every1 will die," according to police.

A Town Hall employee found the note, which police had termed as one of "a threatening nature," on the floor of the main vestibule.

The MTA and Stamford bomb squads were called in and swept the building, according to police, who said nothing was found.

"Nothing was out of place or unusual," Darien Police Sgt. Jeremiah Marron said Thursday.

People were allowed back in the building at around 7:30 p.m. and a police officer was stationed in the foyer.

The Park and Recreation Commission meeting, which was scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m., was delayed until 8:15 p.m.

The incident remains under investigation.
