Darien forecast: Rainy prelude to warm spell
There is a better-than-even chance of rain -- perhaps mixing with light snow -- today in southwestern Connecticut, according to the National Weather Service.
The wintry precipitation threat is in the forecast through early afternoon, but as the temperature climbs to a daytime high in the low-40s, it is likely to become rain only, the NWS says.
Tonight, rain is also likely, with a low temperature falling only to about 40 degrees and a southeast wind between 10 and 14 mph. Patchy fog is also possible.
Showers are expected to continue tomorrow morning, while the temperature is expected to rise to unseasonably warm temperatures in the low-50s. It will also be breezy, with a south wind 11 to 21 mph, later becoming northwest. Tomorrow will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the high-20s.
Saturday should be partly sunny, with a high near 46 degrees.
And the outlook for Sunday, according to the weather service, is for partly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-40s.
