Darien forecast: Fairly nice prelude to rainy days
More fairly bright, warm weather will shine on southwestern Connecticut during the day.
Although the National Weather Service says that skies will not be as cloud-free as yesterday, temperatures are expected to rise to about 70 degrees, with a northeast wind 5 to 8 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon.
Tonight, however, there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, the NWS says, as clouds increase and the temperature drops to the low-40s.
Tomorrow, there is a chance of daytime showers, as skies turn overcast and temperatures reach only about 50 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
Rain is likely late tomorrow and into early-morning Friday, as the temperature dips to about 40 degrees with an east wind 14 to 21 mph. Chance of nighttime precipitation is 70 percent, the NWS says.
On Friday, more rain is expected -- could be heavy at times -- with a daytime high temperature of 50 degrees and breezy conditions with an east wind 15 to 20 mph, decreasing to 9 to 14 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
Friday night there remains a chance of showers before 10 p.m. and temperatures will register a low about 40 degrees. Odds of precipitation are about 50 percent.
Saturday should see clearing with mostly sunny skies and a high temperature in the upper-50s. Nighttime will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the upper-30s.
The outlook for Sunday, according to the weather service, is sunny and temperatures in the 50s.
