DANBURY — Just minutes after knocking down a garage fire on Osborne Street Friday afternoon, firefighters were called to the scene of a possible blaze five miles away.

Firefighters were called to a “possible structure fire” at 3 Oak Trail around 3:47 p.m. — but a structure fire it was not.

They instead found a “small pile of leaves” burning behind a fence next to a shed on the property.

The fire marshal was called to the scene because the shed had been damaged, according to dispatch reports.

Firefighters were still putting water on the leaf pile at 4:18 p.m. No injuries were reported.
