First Team

Swimmer of the Year 

Annam Olasewere

Staples, Freshman

Stats: Olasewere broke the 50- and 100-yard freestyle FCIAC, Class LL, State Open, and Southern Connecticut State University pool records. She is an All-American qualifier for the 50- and 100-yard freestyle and the 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays. She earned two first-place medals at the State Open, winning the 50-yard freestyle in 22.58 to eclipse the State Open mark of 23.03 set in 2016. Olasewere added the 100-freestyle crown in 50.21, just off her record pace of 50.14 in Class LL. At states, her 22.67 in the 50 free bettered McKenna Dale of E.O. Smith’s state record of 23.03 (2016) and Sarah Grinald’s class record of 23.22 (2016). Olasewere’s time of 50.14 in the 100 exceeded the state record time of 50.39 (Elizabeth McDonald, Pomperaug, 2011), the Class LL time of 51.11 (Sophie Murphy, Cheshire, 2019) and the SCSU pool mark of 50.77. She anchored the State Open winning 200- and 400-freestyle relays, which set a Class L record in the 200 and placed first in the 400. 
Honors: All-American, CHSCA All-State, All-FCIAC.

Alexandra Bradley

Weston, Senior

Stats: Bradley won the 200-individual medley in 2:08.77 and the 100-butterfly in 57.26 when Weston took home its eighth Class S title in the past 10 competitions. She was a member of the 200-medley and 400-freestyle state champion relay teams. 
Honors:  CHSCA All-State, All-SWC. 
Up next: Plans to swim in college.

Hannah Chuckas

Westhill-Stamford, Junior

Stats: Chuckas’ score of 462.75 after 11 rounds gave Chuckas, in her second full season diving, the State Open title. She also won the Class LL championship with a career best 469.25. Chuckas was top diver in seven consecutive regular season meets.
Honors:  CHSCA All-State, All-FCIAC.

Brianna Deierlein

Newtown, Sophomore

Stats: Deierlein won the Class L title in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:51.42. She was also meet best in the 100-backstroke (56.44). 
Honors:  CHSCA All-State, All-SWC.

Aislin Farris

Enfield-Somers, Senior

Stats: Farris was State Open champion in the 100-backstroke with a time of 56.38. She was third in the 200-intermediate medley (2:01.91). Farris was All-State in the 200 IM and 100-backstroke. She holds team records in the 100-backstroke, 200 IM, 500 freestyle and 100 freestyle. Farris set ECC meet and pool records in the 100 backstroke (57.60) and 200 IM (2:03.78). 
Honors:  CHSCA All State, All-CCC.

Payton Foster

Greenwich, Sophomore

Stats: Foster was first in the 500 freestyle (4:54.59) for State Open champion Greenwich. Foster also broke the five-minute mark with a time of 4:58.56 to take home the Class LL title. She also earned All-State in the 200-medley relay. Foster is All American in the 200 IM. 
Honors:  Two-time CHSCA All-State, two-time GameTimeCT All-State, All-FCIAC.

Nicole Hahn

East Lyme, Senior

Stats: Hahn was Class M state champ in the 200 individual medley and the 100-breaststroke. She added an All-State title in the 200-freestyle relay. Hahn rebroke school records in the 200 IM (2:07.15) and the 100-breaststroke (1:04.72). Hahn added new marks in the 50 (24.94) and 100 (53.1) freestyles. She set an ECC record in the 200 IM and snapped her own record time in the 100-breaststroke to help the Vikings to the league title. 
Honors: CHSCA All-State, All-ECC. 
Up next: Plans to swim in college.

Olivia Huewe

Weston, Junior

Stats: Huewe was Class S state champion in the 100-backstroke with a time of 57.51. She placed second in the 200 IM (2:10.30) as Weston won its eighth consecutive title. She swam with the Trojans’ state record-setting 400-freestyle relay team. Huewe was a member of state-winning 200-medley relay. 
Honors:  CHSCA All-State, All-SWC.

Claire Kehley

Lauralton Hall, Senior

Stats: Kehley was undefeated in the 500 freestyle during the regular season. She came in first in the 200 and 500 freestyle at the SCC Championships. She finished second in the 200 free and first in the 500 free at Class S finals. Kehley placed second in the 200 free and third in the 500 free at State Open. 
Honors: Four-time CHSCA All-State, three-time All-SCC, four-time Register All-Area.
Up next: Will swim at Bucknell University.

Avery Kudlac

Glastonbury, Junior

Stats: Kudlac was State Open champion in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:51.50. She was second in the 100-butterfly (55.56) at the Open and Class LL. She set school records in the 200 free (1:51.50) and 100-butterfly (55.66) for the ECC East champions. Kudlac helped her 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams break school records in second-place finishes at the Open and states. 
Honors: CHSCA All-State, All-ECC.

Miller Ward

Darien, Sophomore

Stats: Ward was State Open champion in the 100-butterfly. She took home state titles in the 200-intermediate medley (2:03.78) and 100-butterfly (56.23) for Class L team champion Darien. She set a school record with a swim of 54.88 in the 100-butterfly at the FCIAC meet. The old mark was 56.08. Ward was FCIAC champ in the 100-butterfly and the 200 IM. At the Open, she swam the breaststroke leg in the 200-medley relay that finished second. 
Honors: CHSCA All-State, All-FCIAC.

Lauren Walsh

Trumbull, Senior

Stats: Walsh captured two State Open titles. Her time of 1:01.04 in the 100-breaststroke bettered her mark of 1:01.96 set in 2019.  Walsh won the 200 IM in 200.19. She set school records in the 100-breaststroke, 200 IM, and the 100-butterfly (55.21). Walsh was Class LL champion in the 200 IM and the 100-breaststroke. 
Honors: All-American, three-time CHSCA All-State, All-FCIAC.
Up next: Will swim for the United States Naval Academy.
