Dave StewartStats: The sophomore broke a pair of State Open records by winning the 200 freestyle (1:48.20) and the 100 freestyle (50.07)... Set Class LL state records in the 200 freestyle (1:47.86) and 100 freestyle (49.88), and also owns the 50 freestyle record.... Won the 100 freestyle and was part of the Wreckers’ winning 200 freestyle relay at the FCIAC swim finals.
Honors: All-American in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyles… Earned Most Outstanding Swimmer honors at the FCIAC meet in each of the past two seasons… Named to the All-FCIAC first team for two straight years… Ranked No. 1 by Swim Cloud for the recruiting class of 2026... Was the GameTimeCT Swimmer of the Year as a freshman.
Out of the pool: A member of the Westport Youth Commission and the Teen Awareness Group… Volunteer for Team Triumph, which is involved in community activities… Part-time soccer referee… First honors for four semesters… 2021-22 Scholastic All-America… Interested in double bass and photography.

Riley Anderson, Bacon Academy, Freshman
Stats: Won the 50-yard freestyle championship with a time of 23.07 at the CIAC State Open… Set a Class S record of 23.20 while winning the 50 freestyle at that meet… Won the Class S 100 butterfly in 56.41, and was part of the second-place 200 freestyle relay, and the third-place 400 freestyle relay.
Honors: Earned All-ECC honors.
Out of the pool: High honors with distinction for the first quarter with all honors classes… Ran in the 2019 Sam Adams Jack O’5K in Glastonbury and finished first among women in 20:31 and 21st overall out of 901 runners… A US Open qualifier in the 50 freestyle.

Lily Archibald, Ridgefield, Sophomore

Ridgefield's Lily Archibald competes in the 100-yard butterfly at the CIAC State Open at Yale's Kiphuth Pool in New Haven on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022.
Dave StewartStats: The sophomore helped lead the Tigers to their first State Open championship, as well as the Class LL and FCIAC titles this fall… She swam leadoff for Ridgefield’s 200-yard freestyle relay, which set a state record of 1:35.48 at the Open… She also won the Open 100 butterfly (54.57), finished second in the 100 backstroke (57.22) and was part of the winning 400 freestyle relay (3:28.56).
Honors: Earned a place in the All-FCIAC first team… 100 butterfly time earned All-American consideration and qualified for the Junior Nationals and the TYR Pro Swim Series in March… Ranked No. 2 by Swim Cloud for the recruiting class of 2026.
Out of the pool: Co-founder of Ridgefield High’s Heritage Club, an outreach-based club which connects diverse members of the RHS, helps diverse surrounding communities, and lets others learn about cultures… Volunteer for the Special Olympics… athlete representative on the CT Swimming Age Group Committee… A volunteer mentor/swim instructor for younger swimmers with the Ridgefield Aquatic Club, summer league swim team, and in the community… Member of the WPC church youth group… High Honor Roll every semester since freshman year.

Julia Barto, Cheshire, Junior

Cheshire's Julia Barto
Contributed photoStats: Won two State Open titles by finishing first in the 200-yard individual medley (2:03.05) and the 100-yard backstroke (56.57)... Helped lead Cheshire to its 10th SCC championship in 11 years… Won the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.68) and 100-yard butterfly (57.14) at the SCC finals… Was part of the Rams’ winning 200 medley (1:47.32) and 400 freestyle (3:39.28) relays… At the Class L meet, finished second in the 200 IM (56.90) and was part of Cheshire’s winning 400-yard freestyle relay (3:31.07).
Honors: Earned Most Outstanding Performer honors at the SCC finals… Earned All-SCC honors in each of the past three years.
Out of the pool: CT Swim scholar-athlete… All-SCC Academic honors… Member of the Distressed Children’s and Infants Club and the Lights of Hope Club.

Hannah Chuckas, Westhill/Stamford, Senior

Westhill-Stamford diver Hannah Chuckas added the State Open title to her resume.
Westhill-Stamford Swim/Contributed photoStats: Won the FCIAC diving championship with a score of 440.75… Finished as the runner-up at the CIAC State Open (487.20) and Class LL (486.50) meets… Her Class LL score was the third-highest for all four state divisional meets… Won the CIAC State Open (462.75) and Class LL (469.25) titles as a junior. Broke Stamford High’s 25-year records for six and 11 dives.
Honors: Earned a place on the All-FCIAC first team in each of the past three seasons.
Out of the pool: Member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society… High honors with distinction all three years… Hip Hop dance team… USA Diving with club team… Has also competed in gymnastics and lacrosse for two years each, and ice hockey for one year… Was a CHSCA All-State and All-FCIAC gymnastics during the 2019-20 season.
Up next: Has not committed to a college yet, but hopes to pursue a career in singing.

Ali Colburn, the Class S diving champion, earlier set the Conard record in the 6 and 11 diving format.
Conard High/Contributed photoStats: Captured a second straight CIAC Class diving championship, winning LL this year with a score of 500.60… Was one of only two divers to crack 500 points during the four state class meets… Finished third at the CIAC State Open with a score of 479.60… Won the Class L title as a junior, scoring 460.05.
Honors: A member of the National Honor Society and World Language Honor Society… Member of the National Art Society as a sophomore… Maximum Honors all four years… President of the Medical Club… Class Board Member during her senior and junior years… Dedicated free periods to designing and creating pottery… Develops and advertises an online auction, raising over $500 to donate to Friends of Feeney… Volunteers for St. James Episcopal Church: Stocking Stuffing for the homeless, Sandwich assembly for the homeless, and Assembly of backpacks for children in need.

Dave StewartStats: Helped lead the Guardians to the CCC East championship and a third-place finish at the CIAC Class LL finals… Was first in the 50 freestyle (23.94) and was second in the 100 butterfly (57.10), as both she and her twin sister Riley broke the Glastonbury pool record…. Won the 100-yard butterfly (54.20) at the Class LL finals… Was also part of the Guardians’ second-place 200 and 400 free relays in Class LL… Finished second in the 200 freestyle (1:49.01) and 100 butterfly (55.08) at the CIAC State Open.
Honors: Earned Swimmer of the Meet honors at the CCC East championships… Named to the All-CCC East first team from her freshman to senior seasons.
Up next: Will swim at the University of Pittsburgh next year.

Dave StewartStats: Set a Glastonbury pool record when she won the 100 butterfly in 56.56 at the CCC East Division finals… Helped lead the Guardians to the division crown… Won the 100 backstroke (59.09) at the CCC East meet, and was part of Glastonbury’s winning 200 freestyle (1:40.32), and 400 freestyle (3:48.61) relays… Was runner-up in the 50-yard freestyle (23.47) and 100-yard freestyle (50.62) at the Class LL meet… Was also part of the Guardians’ second-place 200 and 400 free relays in Class LL… Was second in the 50-yard freestyle (23.50) and 100-yard freestyle (51.01) at the CIAC State Open.
Honors: Named to the All-CCC North first team this fall… Was All-CCC East first team from her freshman to junior seasons.
Up next: Will swim for George Washington University next year.

Honors: Earned a spot on the All-FCIAC first team during her junior and senior years.
Out of the pool: Works for family-owned business in her free time, and through that delivers food to the homeless at the Open Doors shelter in Norwalk… Babysits and works with kids… Lifeguard and coach in the Fairfield County Swim League during the summer… Takes AP courses in environmental science and comparative government.
Up next: Has not yet decided on a college destination.

Honors: Earned a spot in the All-FCIAC first team this fall… Was All-FCIAC second team as a freshman.
Out of the pool: High honors all four quarters as a freshman and first quarter this year… Volunteer with the Mimosa Recreation Center’s summer swim team program, teaching kids the basics of swimming… Volunteer lifeguard at Mimosa.

Stats: Helped lead Cheshire to its 10th SCC championship in 11 years and a runner-up finish at the CIAC Class L finals… Finished first in the 50-yard freestyle (24.10) and 100 backstroke (58.03) at the SCC meet, and was part of the Rams’ winning 200 medley (1:47.32) and 200 free (1:38.92) relays.
Honors: Named the SCC Player of the Year as a senior… Earned All-SCC honors every season of her high school career.
Out of the pool: Cheshire Lights of Hope… Member of the Winterfest Service Club… High honors… Member of the Math Honor Society… CT Academic Team and SCC All-Academic Team… Also a lifeguard.
Up next: Will swim for the University of Rhode Island next year.

Dave StewartStats: Was the 500-yard freestyle champion at the State Open with a time of 4:58.17… Was third in the 200 individual medley (2:03.75)... Won the Class L 500 freestyle (4:58.13) and was runner up in the 200 individual medley (2:02.47).... Was first in the 200 freestyle in a CCC West record time of 1:55.92… Was also part of the record-setting 200 freestyle relay (1:43.37) and was also second in the 100 backstroke (1:02.46) during the CCC West meet.
Honors: Earned All-CCC West honors as a junior and senior.
Out of the pool: Member of the National Honor Society and the Chinese National Honor Society… AP Scholar with Honors, Scholar Athlete, and Scholastic All-American… Member of the Empty Bowls Club and UNICEF Club.
