First Team

Player of the Year 

Gary Moore Jr.

Hillhouse, Senior

Stats: At State Open won the shot put (56-5.5), javelin (187-2) and discus (187-10), at Class L won the shot put (57-9), won the discus (192-10, meet, breaking a 53-year old state record), won javelin (185-9). At SCC Western Sectional set state record in shot put (66-4.75). State champion in hammer (201-07). New England champion in discus.

Honors: Three-time All-American, three-time New Haven Register All-Area MVP, four-time CHSCA All-State and All-SCC. 

Up next: Will compete in track and field at Baylor.

Michael Bohlke

Newington, Senior

Stats: At Class L won the 1600 (4:19.62) and won 3200 (9:07.99), at State Open fifth in the 1600 (4:16.62) and fourth in 3200 (9:24.47).

Honors: All-CCC, CHSCA All-State.

Off the track: National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, English National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society.

Up next: Will run cross country and track at George Washington.

Colin Brown

Cheshire, Junior

Stats: At State Open won the 100 (10.89) and fifth 200 (22.48), at Class L won 100 (10.94) and fifth in 200 (22.40). Won 100 and placed third in 200 at New Englands.

Honors: CHSCA All-State, All-SCC

Off the track: Also plays soccer and was elected captain of team for his senior year.

Steven Ditelberg

Fairfield Ludlowe, Senior

Stats: At the State Open won the pole vault (14-8). At Class LL won the pole vault (14-1). Fifth at New Englands.

Honors: CHSCA All-State, CHSCA Academic All-State, All-FCIAC

Off the track: National Honor Society, Commended Scholar at National Merit Scholarship Competition.

Hillhouse, Senior

Stats: At the State Open won the 300 hurdles (37.65) and at Class L won 300 hurdles (37.89, meet record).

Honors: CHSCA All-State, All-SCC.

Off the track: Plays basketball.

Lewis Mills, Junior

Stats: At State Open second in 110 hurdles (14:40) and second in 300 hurdles (39:17), at Class M won the 200 (22.27), won 110 hurdles (14.35, meet record), won 300 hurdles (39.47). Won 110 hurdles and placed second in 300 hurdles at New Englands.

Honors: CHSCA All-State, All-CCC

Stats: At the State Open won 110 hurdles (14.37) and third in javelin (175-10), at Class M won javelin (167-11) and second 110 hurdles (14.65).

Stats: At State Open won long jump (22-0.5), second in high jump (6-4) and second in triple jump (46-4.5), at Class L won long jump (21-6.25), won triple jump (45-7), second high jump (6-4).

Honors: CHSCA All-State, All-NVL.

Stats: At the State Open won the 1600 (4:10.83) ad 3200 (9:09.60), at Class LL won th 1600 (4:17.05) and 3200 (9:07.85).

Honors: GameTimeCT Cross Country All-State, Honor roll student in all four years of high school.

Up next: Will run in cross country and track at Northern Arizona University.

Wethersfield, Senior

Stats: At State Open won the triple jump (47-6.5) and sixth in long jump (21-5.75), at Class MM won triple jump (44-8.5) and third long jump (20-10.5). Won triple jump at New Englands.

Honors: CHSCA All-State, All-CCC.

Stats: At the State Open won the high jump (6-10) and at Class L won the high jump (7-0.75, meet, state records).

Off the track: Assists with youth basketball, lifeguard at Simsbury Farms Park and Rec, service hours St. Catherine of Siena Church.
