Wahlburgers is returning to Connecticut with Foxwoods location

Wahlburgers will once again have a Connecticut presence, as the casual restaurant will open at Foxwoods Resort Casino next summer.

The celebrity-founded restaurant and bar chain, focusing on burgers, previously had a location at the Westfield Trumbull mall, which closed in 2020 after three years in business.

The dining concept, founded by actors and musicians Mark and Donnie Wahlberg and their brother Paul, the chain’s executive chef, launched in 2011 in their native Massachusetts. The menu features burgers, chicken and fish sandwiches, salads with chicken and salmon, loaded tater tots, fries, onion rings and “Mom’s Favorites,” including bacon mac and cheese and chili.

The Foxwoods location will also have a full bar, with adult shakes, "Wahlcoctions" cocktails, wines and beers, including a signature "Wahlbrewski" pale ale.

"The addition of Wahlburgers signifies yet another exceptional property moment as we continue our mission to elevate the Foxwoods experience,” said Jason Guyot, president and CEO of Foxwoods Resort Casino, in a news release. "Like Foxwoods, Wahlburgers is a family-owned business that has ties to the local community and offers a premium guest experience. We look forward to a very successful partnership."

Wahlburgers at Foxwoods will take over the current Fuddruckers’ location closing in September, with construction slated to begin in October. This is the second New England casino location for the chain, which opened at MGM Springfield in the spring of 2021.

The chain now has restaurants in 24 states, in addition to locations in Australia, Canada and Germany. A New Zealand restaurant is "coming soon," according to its website.
