Southwestern Connecticut don't-miss dates of 2018 (so far)

It's time to start filling out your social calendar. Some of Southwestern Connecticut's most anticipated events have released their 2018 dates.

Ring in spring with Fairfield's annual Dogwood Festival and New Canaan's May Fair. You'll also want to not that Ferris Acres Creamery and Down the Hatch have announced their opening days.  

Beer lovers should buy tickets now for the wildly popular Two Roads Jam Fest; Brews on Bedford is also back in Stamford.

Greenwich, which hosts some of the most prestigious events of the year, has landed music legend Eric Clapton at the headliner of the annual Greenwich town party in May.

Clapton — whose work with the Yardbirds, Cream, Blind Faith and Derek and the Dominos led to an enormously successful career — has won 18 Grammys and was ranked number two on Rolling Stone's 100 greatest guitarists of all time. Now he will be bringing his talents to Greenwich and the party's organizers were quick to share their excitement.

"'Eric Clapton is God' has been a common expression since I started following Clapton nearly 50 years ago," said Ray Dalio, a town resident and founder of Greenwich Town Party. "Greenwich residents will get to hear why at this Town Party which will be the best ever."
