Improv comedy troupe returns to Darien Arts Center
The Comedy Improvisational Troupe TUG, ill return to the Darien Arts Center for performances July 15 and 16 at 8 p.m.
The decision to add performances came after the success of the troupe's May shows.
DAC Martial Arts instructor Jamie Gombos left the May show saying he'd "laughed until he cried."
TUG delights audiences by creating scenes on the spot with suggestions given by the audience. These scenes put the actors to the test of justifying hilarious situations with the rules of each game. Some scenes even require the help of audience members.
Members of the troupe are active members of the Fairfield County arts community, frequently participating throughout the area in dance, theatre, creative writing and stand-up comedy events.
Due to the off-the-cuff nature of the performances, the two shows offer a completely unique experience both nights.
Founded in 1975, the Darien Arts Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing visual and performing arts programs and events for the community. The DAC offers educational programs in dance, visual arts, theatre and music and performances by the Darien Players and Cabaret Theatre. The organization is funded by private donations, tuition fees and ticket sales.
