SPLURGE Jewelry will host two Easter activities for the whole family. For the fourth year in a row, SPLURGE is partnering with Kids in Crisis and the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County to collect filled Easter Baskets for kids in need.

"We are very excited about our fourth annual Easter Basket collection. We have had a strong response from our clients and friends in the past and our goal is to collect 100 filled baskets this year," SPLURGE owner Sonia Sotire Malloy said.

"The generosity of our community is deeply appreciated by all of us at Kids in Crisis. Because of this thoughtful effort, children who are not with their families and away from home are able to enjoy the holiday," Shari Shapiro, executive director of Kids in Crisis, said.

"The Food Bank is grateful for Sonia Sotire Malloy's touching and heartwarming gesture of the gift of an Easter basket to children affected by the cruelty of hunger and is delighted that these children will have a bright smile on their faces when waking up on Easter morning," Kate Lombardo, executive director of the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County, said.

Giving back to the community is a trend SPLURGE continues month after month. SPLURGE served as a drop-off point for Toys for Tots this past holiday season and in February SPLURGE donated a percentage of sales to the American Heart Association in honor of American Heart Month. Easter Baskets for kids ages 1 to 17 will be accepted at SPLURGE until Wednesday, April 20. Cellophane-wrapped Easter Baskets can be filled with toys, journals, decks of cards, personal care items, gift cards, packaged healthy snacks and traditional Easter candy. If donors choose to shop at SPLURGE on the day of their donation, they will receive a 10 percent discount.

As an addition to this year's Easter festivities, SPLURGE is pleased to announce a special guest appearance from the Easter Bunny on Saturday, April 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The community is invited to drop in for coffee, breakfast treats and an opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny. Megan Dey of Megan Dey Photography of Darien will be at the store to take a complimentary photograph that guests will receive as a keepsake.

SPLURGE recently relocated to 39 Lewis Street in Greenwich. SPLURGE is open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday by appointment. Call 203-869-7600. E-mail sonia@splurgegifts.com.
