DARIEN - Noroton Presbyterian Church is excited to announce its Summer Film Series of the top crowdfunded film project titled “The Chosen.” The screening will take place over five consecutive Fridays, beginning June 18 at 7:30 p.m.
“We are very excited to welcome friends to gather together to see the story of the life of Christ,” church organizers stated in a release to Hearst Connecticut Media.
The Chosen is the first multi-season drama series about Jesus Christ and has been viewed by nearly 50 million people in 180 countries and translated into more than 50 languages. It is being praised for its accurate and engaging storytelling.
Some food will be available at the event, or people can bring their own picnic. The church will be offering pizza and other treats for sale at each screening. All proceeds from the event will go to the church’s local mission partners.
Each show will begin at dusk on the Post Road lawn, between the church chapel and sanctuary. The move will be presented on the church’s jumbo projection screen. Outdoor games will set up for children. People who are interested in attending the event are asked to bring beach chairs.
In the event of rain, the screening will take place in the main sanctuary. All state-mandated COVID-19 social distancing guidelines will be in place. The event is open to all.
“The Chosen” is a multi-season series about the life of Jesus. The series has raised more than $10 million from 16,000 investors.
The church is located at 2011 Post Road.
