A nighttime milling and resurfacing project will be performed on a 3.81-mile section of Route 1 in Darien,  will begin Sept. 14, through Friday, Oct. 13, 2017. The state's Department of Transportation says work hours will be 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing the 3.81 miles of Route 1 in Darien.  This project is scheduled to occur Thursday, Sept. 14 through Friday, Oct. 13.  The milling segment of this project is anticipated to be performedon Thursday night, Sept. 14, through Friday morning Oct. 6.  The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Wednesday night, Sept. 27, through Friday morning Oct. 13.

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 1 from .10 mile north of Stamford Town Line to Norwalk Town Line.  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be used to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. (Sunday through Thursday).

Changes  or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
