Letter: Broken sidewalk a fire hazard

To the Editor:

I have made seven to eight requests to the Public Works Department through the town website and in person to repair the sidewalk in front of my home, which has been in disrepair since I bought the home on 2005.

Besides being an eyesore, this broken sidewalk is a safety hazard for children and parents who walk past my house to tokeneke school, which breaks further and becomes more hazardous with our shoveling each winter. Despite one or two acknowledgement emails over the years, my request has not been acted upon and has been ignored in large part.

I’m asking my fellow citizens here if they have any suggestions for me in order to get some action from the Public Works Department on this issue.
