Darien Boy Scouts accepting donations for 46th annual tag sale

The 46th Annual Darien Boy Scouts Giant Tag Sale is scheduled for Sunday, May 6, from 8:30 to 4 p.m. at the Scout Cabin, at 140 West Avenue.

The committee is seeking art, antiques, collectibles, jewelry, instruments, foreign currency, indoor and outdoor furniture, lawn mowers, lawn and garden tools, hand tools, woodworking tools, construction tools, snow blowers, electronics, stereo equipment, turntables, speakers, computers (Pentium IIIs and newer), flat screen TVs, cell phones, CDs, DVDs, records, housewares, lamps and linens, rugs, dishes, decorative items, sporting goods, baby/children’s items, books, games and toys, bikes, trikes and scooters, holiday items and knick-knacks.

Donations can be dropped off at the Scout Cabin from 9 to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, and Wednesdays to Saturdays, April 18 to 21, and April 25 to 28. Extra evening drop off hours are available Thursdays and Fridays April 19, 20, 26 and 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. Local pickups available for items too large to fit in your car on Saturdays, April 21 and 28. Pickup availability is limited so schedule a pickup soon. The sale provides funds to operate the Andrew Shaw Memorial Scout Cabin and subsidize Scouting programs in Darien. Unsafe and or unsalable items can’t be accepted, including clothing, magazines, mattresses, car seats, cribs, tube TVs, TV armoires, venetian blinds, hazardous materials, propane tanks, tires more than seven years old, or building materials such as sinks, windows and doors.
