St. Thomas More R.C. Church: 374 Middlesex Road, Darien, 655-3303

Mass is held at 9 a.m., Monday through Friday; 4:30 p.m. on Saturday; 7:30, 8:45, 10. Family Mass at 11:30 a.m. and 5:15 p.m., Sunday. Confession is held from 3:45 to 4:15 p.m., Saturday. The Rev. Paul Murphy, pastor; the Rev. Dr. Robert J. Post, parochial vicar.

St. John R.C. Church: 1986 Post Road, Darien, 655-1145

The Rev. Msgr. Frank C. McGrath, pastor; the Rev. Frank Gomez, parochial vicar. Regular masses are held at 8 a.m. Monday through Friday, and 8:30 a.m., Saturday. Weekend masses are at 4:30 on Saturday, and 7:30, 8:30, 10, 11:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday. Confessions are 3 to 4 on Saturdays.



The Neighborhood Church: Meets in members’ homes in Stamford and Darien; 203-253-3754

Worship services are at 10 a.m. on Sunday. Small groups and Bible study groups meet throughout the week. Contact the Rev. Robert Childs, pastor, at 203-253-3754, for more information.

New Beginnings Community Church: 65 Tokeneke Road, Darien, 655-7194

Senior Pastor Robert Cassara. Services are on Saturday evenings at 6 and Sunday mornings at 9 and 11 a.m. There is a children’s ministry on Sunday for children 3 months to 12 years old.

The church also offers weekly care groups which meet in the evening, as well as a “Soul Focus” youth ministry which meets once a month.


Christian Science

First Church of Christ, Scientist: 2331 Post Road, Darien, 655-2772

Sunday services and Sunday School are at 10:30, and include readings from the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy. The Sunday School is open to people up to 20 years old.

Wednesday meetings are held at  p.m. and include Scriptural readings and testimonies of healing.

A free public reading room at 1094 Post Rd is open from 10 to 3 Monday through Friday and 10 to 1 Saturday.


United Church of Christ

First Congregational Church of Darien: 14 Brookside Road, Darien, 655-0491

Worship services at 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Fourth Sunday of Lent. Sunday, March 30. The Rev. Dale Rosenberger will give the sermon “Miracles and the Law of Unintended Consequences”

Scripture Readings: Ezekiel 37:1-14  and John 11:1-45 Dale Rosenberger is the senior minister. The music director is Dan Hague. The nursery school director is Teri Manning.

The Reverend John Livingston will deliver the message “Learning to See.” Scripture: John 9:1-41.

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church: 1864 Post Road, Darien, 655-1456

On Sunday, there are 8 and 10 a.m. Eucharist and 5:30 p.m. Come As You Are worship services.  On the first and third Wednesday of the month, Eucharist & healing service is held in the Chapel 9:30 a.m..

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church: 471 Mansfield Ave., Darien, 655-8773

The Rev. Christopher P. Leighton, rector.

Sunday services are at 8:45 and 10:30 a.m.  Sunday school for pre-school through age 11 begins at  10:30  a.m.

Childcare is available.  There is a healing service at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays, followed by a lunch.

St. Michael’s Lutheran Church: 5 Oenoke Ridge, New Canaan, 966-3913

Sunday — Worship and Holy Communion, 10 a.m. Sunday School, 9 a.m. Nursery care available during the service. Fellowship Hour follows the service. Wednesday: Chime Choir, 6:00 p.m.; Senior Choir, 6:45 p.m., Vespers Service, 7:30 p.m., Adult Bible Study, 8 p.m.

The fifth Sunday of Lent Worship & Communion will be at 10 a.m., Sunday, April 6, with the Rev. James R. Hoffman, preaching.

Holy week:

Palm Sunday, April 13th: Procession with distribution of Palms, 10 a.m. Worship, celebrating Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem.

Sunday School for children through high school is at 10 a.m. each Sunday, except for Communion Sundays (usually celebrated the first Sunday of the month). Adult Choir rehearses at 9 a.m. on Sunday; Tonechimes rehearse on Wednesdays at 6:45 p.m Adult study meets at 10 a.m. on Wednesday; the ‘Other Good Book’ Club meets monthly.

Rowayton United Methodist Church: 5 Pennoyer St., Rowayton, 838-0049

Weekly worship service is on Sundays at 10 a.m. Fellowship Hour follows at 11.

Choir rehearsal, Sundays at 9 a.m. in the sanctuary. Nursery care is available for infants and toddlers during the service. Children are invited to attend the beginning of the service with their families and then attend Sunday school following the children’s moment in the service. Communion is offered the first Sunday of each month.



Noroton Presbyterian Church: 2011 Post Road, Darien, 655-1451

The Rev. Samuel A. Schreiner III, senior pastor; the Rev. Gregory M. Doll, associate pastor; the Rev. Brandi Drake, associate pastor.

Worship service is 8 am in the chapel, 9 and 10:30 am in the church sanctuary and a family-friendly evening worship service at 5:00 pm in the sanctuary with a simple supper for only $5 after the service in Horton Hall.  Church school is held during the sanctuary services and childcare is provided for 9 &10:30.  The church offers a variety of Bible studies, ministry activities and small groups for adults and fun activities for youth. For daily inspiration call Dial-A-Prayer at 203-655-PRAY 24 hours a day.

Services are held at 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Sundays. Sunday School is held during the 10:30 a.m. service. Refreshments following the 10:30 a.m. service in the Merritt Room.
