The Darien Blue Wave will look to bounce back from its disappointing loss in the FCIAC semifinals when it begins play in the CIAC Class L boys lacrosse tournament next week.

Darien earned the No. 5 seed in the tournament and has a bye in Saturday’s playdown round, which will include the No. 10 through 23 seeds.

The Blue Wave will then host a first round game on Wednesday, May 29, against the winner of the playdown game between No. 12 Newington and No. 21 Conard.

With a win in that game, Darien would move into the quarterfinals on June 1, and could face a possible trip to No. 4 Simsbury or a home game against either No. 13 West Haven or No. 20 Ludlowe.

Also on Darien’s side of the bracket are the Ridgefield Tigers, who are the No. 1 seed, as well as No. 8 Staples and No. 9 Warde, who will square off in the first round.

Wave rival New Canaan, the No. 6 seed, as well as No. 19 Wilton are on the other side of the bracket.

The Class L semifinals will be held on Wednesday, June 5, with the finals scheduled for Saturday, June 8 at Brien McMahon High School.
