Baskets in hand and eyes wide with excitement, more than 100 kids took part in the Annual Easter Egg Hunt at The Darien Community Association Friday morning.

Executive Director Amy Bell of the DCA explains the egg hunt to some children.

“It’s just been a very long-standing tradition here at The Darien Community Association,” said Amy Bell, executive director, “and just a very nice community event.”

With the Easter Rabbit himself signaling the start of the hunt on the large lawn in front of the building, kids raced too and fro in the search for some 3,000 multi-colored eggs. They were joined by an equal number of caregivers who recorded the action on phones.

The Easter Bunny watches over the hunt.

“It’s really nice that we can have people come as a family, which is why we do in on Good Friday,” said Bell, who commended the Darien Police Department for its help with traffic and crowd control.
