Darien girls lacrosse soars over Falcons

The Darien girls lacrosse team scored nine goals in each half and stormed past the Ludlowe Falcons, 18-8, Tuesday at Taft Field in Fairfield.

Juniors Sarah Jaques and Ashley Humphrey had six points apiece for the Wave (3-0), with Jaques scoring five goals and dishing out one assist, and Humphrey scoring once and collecting five assists.

Mason Maloney, Kit Arrix, Nicole Humphrey, Maddie Joyce, and Jordan Vaught each scored two goals, while Katie Elders and Charlotte Wittstock had one goal each. Goalie Shea Dolce made five saves.

For Ludlowe (3-1), Bridget O’Brien and Caroline Sullivan led the scoring with two goals each, and Ashley Moynahan, Chloe Madzio Paloma Meehan, and Callie Cirilli each scoring once. Falcons goalie Georgia Hoey made 14 saves.
