East Main Street bridge at Exit 9 to be replaced in Stamford

The CT Department of Transportation is building two new bridge spans to replace the Route 1 (East Main Street) Bridge over I-95 at Exit 9 in Stamford.

This winter, motorists on Interstate 95 driving through Stamford have likely seen a lot of construction activity within the Exit 9 Northbound On and Off ramps, including the erection of bright yellow steel towers that are now topped with very long green girders.

The CT Department of Transportation is building two new bridge spans to replace the Route 1 (East Main Street) Bridge over I-95 at Exit 9 in Stamford.  On the first two weekends in June, the new bridge spans will be moved and lifted into place.

CTDOT is using Accelerated Bridge Construction to minimize disruption to travelers though it will cause delays on I-95 during the two weekends when the bridge is installed. Follow news about construction progress at www.i95exit9.com.
