Letter: Darien Democrats’ agenda for flipping GOP house seat needs work

The following letter was addressed to David Bayne, Elizabeth Hall, Randy and Evonne Klein and Shannon Silsby. It is published here at the request of the author.

To the Editor:

First, I want to compliment you on the consistency in trying to frame Terrie Wood as someone 99 percent of Darien knows she is not. The transparency of your agenda for flipping our House seat needs a lot of work.

Secondly, with all your apparent spare time, why aren’t you our recruiting citizens to move to Darien and Connecticut. Homes for sale reached a record high. Values in many cases are what they were in the 90’s. Don’t tell them the tax scheme you support. Unless like yourselves they desire higher taxes and less services. Explain there are less philanthropic successful people, always a good selling point when families look for stable communities.

Third and probably the most important. Don’t bring your fuzzy math, tax schemes, school schemes, toll schemes, car tax schemes and any other schemes and expect us to rollover and accept them. You clearly do not realize sentiment in Darien. So, let me explain. Darien is a well-educated town and we appreciate how it is run. Our level of understanding of what Hartford has factually done to our town, home prices and taxes are crystal clear. Your whining or excuses about what was or was not done in the 1900’s is garbage. Democrats have had the majority in the House and Senate since 1997, where our money is spent. It is not going to change anytime soon. You own this period. Thankfully SALT has taken the tide out fully now on your mismanagement of Connecticut. Your new schemes are tax hikes and permanent changes to the fiber of our whole state. Some schemes our voices may alter the outcome, but in the end majority rules.

Lastly, go out and knock on the doors in our town. Explain your vision and schemes to achieve your utopia and report back.
