Yale cello group to perform at Darien High

Low Strung, a Yale University cello group, will perform at Darien High School in February. Darien High Class of ’16 graduate, Chloe Zhou, a current junior at Yale, is a member of the group.

An all-cello rock band that plays arrangements of rock, pop, and jazz songs, Low Strung is collaborating with DHS’s Tri-M organization for a concert on Thursday, Feb. 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the school’s auditorium

Low Strung is a group of classically-trained cellists from Yale University who make up what is said to be the largest all-cello, all-rock band in the world. The group transforms classics of the rock, pop, metal, and blues genres into pieces designed exclusively for the cello.

The group will be hosting a short Q&A about college and music after the concert.
